First of all, I need to begin with a tribute to Igal. I met Igal before the Tel-Aviv triathlon a couple of years ago (See post from In Anatshell) when he saved my life in the true triathlon sense of the word. He is Nina Pekerman’s (Triathlete) bike mechanic and he became mine as well. He works near my parents place in Givat Chen just nearby Raanana and I made a serious mistake of swapping my crank to a compact crank in a place that wasn’t Igal. For that I am sorry.I think I should spread the word here. I’ll quote Igal from a few moments after my apology.
“A bike mechanic is like a doctor. You wouldn’t switch doctors every time you felt sick, right?”
I guess he is right. He did, after all, save my life.
Now on to the juicy stuff -
It’s Wednesday and soon Tamir will be here with the car all packed for Eilat. Tomorrow will be slightly busy with a touch of rest and food throughout the day. I will wake up and jump in my wetsuit, and my jump I mean pull one agonizing leg after another into the damn thing. Next, I will run for 20 minutes and check that my bike is in order. Then I’ll make a good race plan with my coach like we always do, rest, eat, get goody bag, prepare , eat , spend time with Tamir & Raanan & Ravit (Raanan’s wife & energy cookie maker) and finally sleep.
The things I’m happy about are

1. Butterflies (Gotta lov’em)
2. Another 70.3
3. Tamir
4. My coach, Sharone, surprised me and showed up for the race (I hope it was especially for me)
5. My parents decided to come watch. The spinning instructor that got me into triathlons made my mom feel guilty and now both of my parents will come see me race.
