As all dedicated athletes nutrition is a critical part of the training program. Even more important are the people who make sure we triathletes get easy access to food.
Though there are plenty of choices out there we don’t seem to find the time required to get to the proper food. For this reason it is critical that we are surrounded by people who care about our training and can appreciate the hard work we put into being in top shape. This section of the blog is devoted to those that care:
Meet Sandra (Sandy) Kramer – Granola Chef.

Once a week, normally on Fridays, Gisateunu’s mother goes to the shook (market) and hand selects the best ingredients to go into the granola mix. After some tender care she gently massages the ingredients together and places them in the oven. The great scent to fills the room as we enter the kitchen to pick up the freshly prepared batch that will last us about a week (that’s if Gisateinu hides it properly from .. ehm… me).
Meet Ravit Cohen – Cookie Chef, and the 3 handy helpers (the kids).

Nothing like a solid health cookie to start your training, that is what Ravit specializes in. Her cookies contain only the best quality Israeli made ingredients. Using oats, dates, peanut butter, and other secrete health products the cookies are premixed and gently placed in the oven by the 3 helpers. Once the cookies are fully cooked they go through a delicate cooling process. Very importantly, it is critical to eat 2 cookies at most before a training session. Eating more than the suggested amount can result in immobility.
One of our own, the candle holder – Recovery Shake Chef
Not much can be said about the shake that Raanan prepares as he keeps on improving his recipe every time. In general you will find lots of chocolate, peanut butter, dates, bananas, and who knows what else in the mix. One thing for sure, the shake does put you back on your feet feeling refreshed are ready to take on the rest of the day.
Gotta tell you… as a 3rd wheeler myself, I have only tasted the granola. I don’t know about any cookies or recover shakes… Who is responsible for the free samples?
